Wisdom Eyes of Buddha Stone Necklace

This stone pendant is carved with the Wisdom Eyes of Buddha on the front. This symbol represents the Buddha's all seeing eyes. The dot in between the eyes represents the third eye, a symbol of spiritual awakening. The design below the eyes is the Sanskrit numeral one and symbolizes the unity of all.

On the back of the pendant is Om Mani Padme Hum. Om Mani Padme Hum, meaning the Jewel Within the Lotus, is the mantra of Avalokiteshvara, the embodiment of universal compassion. It is said to contain the entire path to enlightenment within it's syllables. The mantra helps the one who repeats it to achieve a deeper connection with their own divine consciousness. In Tibetan Buddhism the mantra is thought to have powerful and positive effects on the individual and the immediate environment. It is also said that the written form of the mantra can have the same effect for one who sees it, so in Tibet, it is also often seen carved into stone and placed where a person going by can see it and receive its blessings.

This pendant is about 7/8" long by 1 3/8 inches wide. It is strung on cord with a secure barrel toggle closure. The cord is about 19 inches from end to end. Please allow for some variation in size and color from the photo shown. Due to the handmade nature of this necklace, each one is unique.
