Tibetans use a unique type of ornamental charm called a Gau as an altar when travelling. It is a portable shrine in which the owner's personal deity can be kept. They usually contain prayer scarves, pictures of deities or the Dalai Lama, or other sacred items that the wearer holds dear.
Inside this Gau, you can put anything that you hold sacred and would like to carry with you throughout your day, perhaps a photo, flower petals, or a lock of hair. If you would like, we will put a small fragment of a prayer flag inside for you. Just let us know.
A beautiful place of honor to hold something special, this gau measures 1 1/2" long by 2 1/8" wide.
Chain is sold separately.
