Tibetan Buddhist Eight Auspicious Symbols Wall Hanging
This colorfully sewn and embroidered wall hanging depicts the Eight Auspicious Symbols (Ashtamangalas) of Tibetan Buddhism. The first is the Victory Banner, the emblem of the Buddha's victorious enlightenment. The second is the Golden Fishes which represent happiness, fertility and abundance. The third is the Treasure Vase, the divine vase of inexhaustible abundance which contains the waters of immortality. The fourth is the Lotus, the symbol of absolute purity and compassion. Fifth is the Conch Shell, an emblem of power and authority whose blast banishes evil. Sixth, the Knot of Eternity, which represents the meditative mind. It is an endless knot that overlaps without a beginning or an end, symbolizing the Buddha's endless wisdom and compassion. Seventh is the Parasol, the traditional symbol of protection from obstacles, illnesses and harmful forces. And last is the Dharma Wheel, the symbol of spiritual and universal law in Buddhism.
The wall hanging measures 33" long by 7 3/8" wide. It has a loop at the top for hanging. The symbols are embroidered in multi colors on a red background. The outer border is a beautiful golden orange brocade with darker orange and gold dragons and flowers. Hang this in your home to attract blessings and good luck!
